As manager of the before after school program I support an open door policy for our families, children, and staff. My goal is to nurture a safe, friendly, and caring environment. In an effort to enhance our program we have established a Parent Advisory Committee.  Former PTA President Stephanie Ridley is a member of our Parent Advisory Committee and it has been a pleasure working with her. We offer many wonderful things in our program to develop your children into good citizens. We offer field trips, clubs, parent night events, parties, monthly events and of course, Young Explorers Intersession camp.

 Our field trips are carefully planned to enhance your children’s learning experience and allow them to have fun. We are presently working on a field trip for this school year.

Our clubs will rotate every six weeks to expose your children to a variety of learning experiences and fun. The clubs offered for the first six weeks will be Creative Expressions, Etiquette, Girl Scouts, Design and Fashion, and World Wide Sports. Our clubs are aligned with the North Carolina Course of Study. We use the Project Based Learning Approach to run our clubs. We also have various activities that follow the (N.C.S.C.S.).

 Young Explorers Intersession Camp is a much needed program to have for year round families. We offer one of the best intersession camps around. Fall Intersession Camp will be held at Holt Elementary School from September 20 through October 8 2010. Last Fall Intersession we went on two field trips each week and enjoyed loads of fun filled activities. Remember to sign up early. The deadline date for Fall Intersession registration is September 13th. Registration forms for intersession and before/after school may be found in the front office and below the after school parent board near the cafeteria.
