Welcome to Easley Elementary School
The PTA is proud to support the faculty, staff, students, and families who make up the Easley community. We encourage you to get involved and help us make a positive impact on Easley.
HAVE A GREAT SUMMER! SEE YOU AGAIN SOON!
Annual Survey
Each spring the Easley PTA distributes a survey to the school community in order to assess our performance over the past year and to establish our priorities for the future. This year we created an online survey to minimize paper waste. Thank you to everyone who completed the annual survey at www.surveymonkey.com. Your feedback is essential to the continued success of our organization, and the Executive Board has already taken steps to incorporate some of suggestions received via the survey.
Teacher Appreciation Week
Thank you to everyone who contributed to and volunteered their time during our Teacher Appreciation Week celebration. This was a fun, heartwarming, and delicious week for our faculty and staff. Special thanks to all of the students and family members who sent in thank you notes for the PTA’s Thank You Letter Drive. We distributed 682 thank you notes to our wonderful faculty and staff on Friday, May 8.

Ruby Acorn Award
Congratulations to the faculty and staff of Easley Elementary School for earning the North Carolina PTA’s Ruby Acorn Award. The Easley PTA is one of 13 local units across the state to earn this award for the 2008-2009 school year. The Ruby Acorn Award is presented to local units that have all full-time teachers enrolled as members. Thank you to our faculty and staff for their support of the PTA. You truly make our organization stronger and more effective by your participation.
The Great Human Race
For the second year, the Easley Eagles participated in the Great Human Race to raise money for playground improvements. The weather was beautiful on March 21 for our Easley team of 41 walkers and runners. Accompanied by family and friends, students and teachers completed the 5K walk and raised over $2,500 for our playgrounds. Congratulations to Benjamin G. who was the top male youth fundraiser for the whole event. Congratulations also to Sam T. and Kelly Hammer who won the student and faculty/staff participation drawings.
Silent Auction
Thank you to all of the generous donors and shoppers who made the 5th Annual Easley Elementary Silent Auction a huge success. The auction was held at Umstead Pines at Willowhaven on February 21, and it raised over $13,900 for our school community. The PTA will use the proceeds to fund a variety of valuable programs including teacher grants, playground improvements, and technology upgrades. Congratulations to Teresa Cyphers for winning the faculty door prize package and to the Farr Family for winning the door prize drawing for a prime parking space at the school.
Thank You to Our Generous Donors!
Literacy Night
Thank you to everyone who attended Literacy Night on November 3. Students enjoyed reading time with some of their favorite teachers, and parents enjoyed an informative reading workshop with Ray Alban. Special thanks to the faculty, staff, and PTA board members who helped to make this evening so special. Thanks also to Gerald Henderson, Jon Scheyer, and the Duke University Athletic Department for supporting our evening of reading. Congratulations to Bethany, Lainey, Mabel, and Michael for winning the awesome door prizes!
