About the PTA
The Easley Elementary School PTA was chartered in 1989 to support the education and welfare of children and youth attending Easley Elementary School in Durham, NC. We have four general membership meetings each school year and monthly Executive Board meetings. All parents and guardians of Easley students are encouraged to join and participate in the PTA. Annual dues are $5.75. There are currently 627 dues-paying members of our organization.
The purposes of the PTA as outlined in our bylaws are: a) To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, and community; b) To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth; and c) To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.
The PTA demonstrates its commitment to Easley through volunteer hours and financial support. Some of the programs we fund include: individual teacher grants; the media center; technology; creative arts programs; playground improvements; and supplies for art, music, physical education, and special education. The PTA is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity and as such, we abide by the expectations of the Internal Revenue Code.
